All Falled Up

Love my little play on words for my title...also Lane loves to say things like, "I'm all soaked up" when he is wet. Anyway, I got my fall decorations out a couple weeks ago. I love fall. The past couple of days actually feel a little fall like for S. California too. I did the pumpkins on the black candle holders last year and still I think that's my favorite!

My fall tree. That's one thing I've learned about decorating. Take a chance, put fall decorations on a fake Christmas tree. If you like it then do it, it's your house.
Can't be fall with out my Pumpkin Pie Spice flavored creamer and gingersnaps. I am planning to make some wonderful Poblano Chicken Chowder this weekend too. I will try to take a picture and post the recipe.

On another note, Case had his 2 month appt today. He did so good and is such a little cutie I must say! He weighed 12 lbs 2 oz he's in the 83rd percentile for weight and the 90th for height I think he's like 23 inches, she didn't give me the paper. He got 3 shots :( He's been pretty cranky this afternoon but is sleeping in his crib right now. Poor little man.

Weekend Pictures

This kids gives me such crooked little smiles. I love it.
Lane just had to take a picture of Case and I. Notice how my head is, Lane posed me that way!
We went down to the beach this weekend. Reese is having fun taking pictures with his new skills. In the school that he is in he's been learning a lot about cameras.
Reese named this picture "bigfoot" Hee hee hee!

Case's first bottle

We fed Case his first bottle over on Saturday. I can't believe how quickly he sucked that baby down! Lane was so excited to be able to feed him. He said "Good he likes bottles now" "Good" is his way of saying that's good. :)

Weekend Trip

We went up to Mt. Laguna for the weekend last weekend. We rented a cabin and ate "camping" food, went hiking, and relaxed in the woods. Case did well in the front pack and even wore his little cordurouy hat to protect his head from the sun :)
The little cabin we stayed in.
Lane love hiking and being in the woods. I got a couple shots of him looking ahead with his hand up like that. He's very serious! He found fools gold, woodpeckers, stellar jays, and even learned that you can chew on pine needles for vitamin C. These boys are going all Bear Grylls style on me.
Me and my boys. Notice Lane's sweatshirt and my tank top. Lane would not take that sweatshirt off, he must have been totally hot.
My little monkey, he's such a climber!

Fall....

Although Fall isn't quite here yet in S. California. I am in the mood for some fall colors, food, scents, ect. On Saturday we went up to this quaint little old mining town, Julian, up in the mountains east of here. It was great, minus Lane puking on himself on the way up and having no extra clothes, check out the Julian t-shirt he is wearing. :) There are woods and nature, I love it. While I was feeding Case in the car, Lane and Reese went for a little hike. They brought me back some huge pinecones and some acorns (or jumpy nuts as Lane calls them).

I purchased this beautiful wreath at this store They are all real leaves and the entire wreath smells like being in the woods. The store is amazing. I would like to live in it. Check out the website to see pictures. They have a ton of different yummy potpurris too. My kinda place.
On Sunday we went out to get Lane some new shoes. I picked up a Yankee Autumn Wreath candle. Heavenly!
So my old Yankee candle Pomegranite Cider (yum!), was on it's last leg. You know when there is a little wax left on the bottom but the wick won't burn anymore. So I melted it down on the stove....
put it in muffin liners...
Whalla, a recycled Yankee jar candle into a candle tart to melt. If you try this at home the tarts will be "juicy" once they harden :0 They ooze a little oil and color so I just set them on a paper towel for a while and they are good to go now.

Have you noticed my obsession with Yankee candles? Every month at the Navy Exchange, they have a couple different scents 25% off. I treat myself to one every month. Love 'em.

Happy almost Fall!

HOT!

We are quite hot down here! It's been in the 90's here on the coast and inland it's in the 100's. Today its only supposed to be in the 80's. I would like to go to the beach but I don't really have anything to provide shade for Case. Hmmmm. Reese ran down there yesterday and said that there was a nice breeze over there, we're surely not feeling it over here!

Wanted to share some pictures from the week. Case has been alot more alert and awake this week. His umbilical cord finally came off last Sunday and Lane was so excited to take a bath with him, even if it was in only 2 inches of water :) Case was pretty mellow during the whole thing. Lane screamed the first time we gave him a bath. I can already see differences in personality. Case seems more relaxed and mellow and is maybe more of a serious baby? Not sure. We are doing good. Lanes first week of school went well. I have a meeting with his teacher next week. It will be interesting to see what she says.
