Been Junkin'

Before

After

I found this bench out in front of my neighbors house after they had moved. So I snatched it up, bought a can of spray paint for $3.44 and here is the finished product! I even got Reese to spray paint it for me! I've junked a few things in my day. In Sumas I grabbed an old wagon wheel and put in one of my flower beds. I also got an old pressure cooker and a bunch of jars in Lynden once. The pressure cooker gauge ended up being broken, but the canning jars came in handy. Junkin' is even better than Thriftin' cause it's free!

Here is a picture of my flower bed. I love it because I can see it out my kitchen window. I am hoping that I can take a picture in a couple months and have blooming sunflowers in front of that dead bush and morning glories climbing the trellis. I have all them growing you just can't see them cause they are still quite small. I need to put more snail bait out, I noticed I have a few sunflowers down. I am excited about the "yard" at this house. I have more places to plant things and I am taking full advantage. I think I even have a place for a zucchini and butternut squash plant on the side of the house! Once again I am sure my neighbors think I am nuts. I am always out there planting more or repotting things. Today I was out taking pictures of it. Yesterday Lane was driving his John Deere Gator around pulling his red wagon behind it. He was wearing a life jacket, had a butterfly net propped up on the back of his Gator and he was waving to invisible people like he was in a parade. We so belong on a couple acres out in the country! I am sure we are entertaining though.

Glad to hear you have more room to be planting and growing those yummy things for your family! Can't wait to see it in person!

I guess Lane has country boy blood. Heee, Heee, makes sense! I love your before and after, it looks very cottage summer like.

Any post with the title "junkin" or "thriftin" always gets my attention. And I love to hear the description of Lane's "get up" -- I am often thankful we live in the country because of the things my boys end up wearing -- or not wearing lol. And our active imaginations really get silly. There will be lots of silly, strange, fun games and behavior at Oma's lodge I am sure. :)
That bench turned out really cute. I love the color.

What a great "junkin" find! Love it. I will have to try some "junkin" myself. Sounds like fun. That is awesome that you feel comfortable to just be yourselves anywhere you are...even if its not in the country. :)
